After receiving two inquiries via e-mail, I knew that time of year had come again. It's time to roll out the Newsvine Fantasy Football Leagues.

I'll keep this short and sweet. I've created two leagues over at Yahoo Fantasy Sports. Just go here and enter the league ID and password and you're in. Just remember to comment below with the name of the team that you create and which league you chose. Any unclaimed teams will be deleted prior to draft.

Get Tackled Here - This is the league for the more competitive players, or at least those of you who have played at least once before and won't pick the Pittsburgh Defense with your first draft choice (thanks Walt D). The draft is set for Thursday, August 23rd at 7:00pm EDT. The league ID is "482784" and the password is "evergreen".

NFFL - This is the league for the more casual player and rookies. This doesn't mean that you don't have to try, but you may not have realized that Tiki Barber retired or Micheal Vick likes playing with dogs. You may also think that Brett Favre is still a good quarterback. Anyway, your draft is set for Tuesday, August 28th at 6:30pm EDT. The league ID is "483092" and the password is also "evergreen".

It is best if you show up for the draft, but if you absolutely cannot make it, just pre-rank your players so you at least get something close to what you want.

Standard rosters of QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, D/ST, K and five bench slots. Nothing crazy with the scoring either, you can look those up somewhere once you sign up. However, I am using fractional points for both leagues so if your player gains 19 yards, you'll get .95 points rather than none. I am also up for suggestions for changing the competitive league scoring system, but the casual league stays simple.

I'll also work on having an article posted per week to discuss the goings on in the league, plus any trash or trade talk you care for. And of course trash talk is COH-free ;-)

Once you join up, you might also want to join the fantasy sports group to keep up to date with everything fantasy.

So what are you waiting for? Just join, and you too might be able to demolish Calvin Tang in a fantasy challenge ;-)

My team, the Replacements, is registered and ready to dominate the NFFL. Like the team in the Keanu Reaves/Gene Hackman movie of the same name they may not know what they're doing, they may look terrible on the field but in the end they will pull out a victory... because they've got HEART!

I'm also relying on huge piles of beginner's luck.

Any chance of a basketball fantasy league in the fall?
